Full-Stack and AI expertise for your next hard problem.
I'm Rebecca, a Lustre core team member and software engineer since 2015. I build applications, help teams get unstuck, and work out where AI can be useful. I particularly enjoy functional programming with Erlang, Gleam, and Lustre.

Practical help for your team
Bring me in for a specific project, review, or workshop. We'll find an approach that fits your team and leaves you able to maintain and build on the work.
Build your application
Turn an idea into a working application, or bring me into an existing project. I not only work across Gleam stacks, but bring a wide array of experience from tiny PHP scripts to big ASP.NET applications your team can rely on.
Help get your team unstuck
A tricky bug, slow code, or an awkward development workflow? I investigate problems, review designs, and build tools that make colleagues' and robots work easier.
Make it ready to run
Get help with packaging, deployment, CI/CD, and failures that only appear in production. Leave with a repeatable release process and documentation for the people operating it.
Help your team learn
Pairing, focused workshops, and guidance on Gleam, OTP, Lustre, and practical AI use. We'll work with your code and workflows so your team can apply what it learns, or we can find opportunities to automate.

B2B commerce & integration solutions
I rebuilt our ERP integration software for Shopware, Shopify, and Magento. Taking over a 10+ year-old codebase, I modernised and rebuilt it incrementally, turning one of our hardest toto debug systems into one of our most stable.
For a separate client project, I owned the work from specification through implementation: bidirectional synchronisation of orders and quotations, including partial deliveries and returns.
I am also responsible for in-house Shopware and PHP development, including B2B extensions. I help the team introduce testing strategies and test-driven development.
Responsible AI use
As the company's AI officer, I run workshops on AI opportunities, safety, and the EU AI Act. I help identify useful automation and product opportunities, navigate privacy and security questions, and improve AI-assisted development and sales processes.
Getting AI to work well in practice is hard. I help cautiously optimistic teams weigh the benefits against the costs, risks, and effects on people. Part of that work is questioning whether AI belongs in a process at all.

audaris
I built a customer-facing vehicle showroom integrated into over 300 websites, using functional patterns in Vue and some Elm. I also developed cross-platform photography apps with AI-assisted image processing and information extraction, and frontend and backend features for the dealer management system, including its shared REST API and marketplace integrations.
I led the move from a VPS-based setup to Kubernetes and S3-based storage. Hosting costs fell by 45% as our customer and vehicle base grew and exports increased substantially. Savings came from storage and bandwidth costs, better hardware utilisation, and shared capacity for occasional jobs. The system handled over a million vehicle exports per day.
The dealer management system and showroom achieved over 99.99% uptime from roughly 2021 until I left in 2024. I led the CI/CD rollout with logging, monitoring, and alerting, introduced code reviews, mentored colleagues, and documented release workflows and operations.

- Lustre
As a core team member, I designed and implemented Lustre's virtual DOM algorithm. With memoisation, Lustre is among the fastest frameworks in our published TodoMVC benchmark. I also help people build with Gleam and Lustre through talks and community support.
- smol
I built smol so developers can write Gleam web servers for Node.js, Deno, Bun, and serverless environments through one consistent API.
- gleepack
I built gleepack to bundle Gleam and Erlang programs into standalone executables, so people can run them without installing Erlang first.
- crew
crew helps you to queue jobs and spread concurrent work across a pool of workers in Gleam and Erlang.
- iv
I built iv, a high-performance persistent array implemented in Gleam.

Adopting Gleam the Boring Way
Bringing Gleam into an existing Erlang, Elixir, or JavaScript codebase.
What working with me looks like
I enjoy getting to know a team, sharing what I know, and learning from the people I work with. I care about the details that make software useful and pleasant for the people using it.
When I join a project, I take time to understand the existing systems and the decisions behind them. We'll agree on the scope and what a finished piece of work looks like, and talk through the tradeoffs, including whether a simpler approach would serve you better. The aim is something that fits your team and that you can continue to support yourselves.
I’m happy to take a piece of work from specification to implementation, pair on a difficult problem, or help a colleague get unstuck. I like leaving people better equipped to carry the work forward, through shared understanding and useful documentation. Kind, curious people, direct communication, and room to disagree make that work enjoyable.
What I bring to the table
Gleam and Lustre are my focus, but I enjoy getting to know unfamiliar systems and the people who use them. Years of building applications and running them in production help me connect the details to the bigger picture.
