The Shoebox

Like a garden but less zen.

There's this idea of a digital garden floating around. Websites that are small, nothing needs to be perfect. "They don't hide their rough edges or claim to be a permanent source of truth.", Maggie Appleton writes in a brief history & ethos of the digital garden.

But gardens are cared for, meticulously cultivated to please the visitor. A garden left on its own converges back to nature. Like that, the shoebox is a collection of trinkets, old photos and trash thats been forgotten. Those make the best memories.
